4 Tips to Writing a Standout CV for Anesthesiology Residency Applications

Welcome to Sevo Sistas where we seek to demystify and diversity the field of anesthesiology all within the duration of an anesthesia break. I

n today's episode, we'll be focusing on one of the essential aspects of your anesthesiology residency application—the CV. Crafting a powerful CV can make a significant impact on your chances of getting into your dream anesthesiology program.

Join us as we explore four valuable tips to help you stand out from the crowd and showcase your passion for anesthesiology.

Tip 1: Prioritize your activities through the lens of the skills that will make you a good anesthesiologist
Dont have randomness listed as your first few activities.  Did that experience foster skills that we care about as anesthesiologists?

Tip 2: Quality over quantity
No one is excited to comb over a 6 page CV- keep the activities meaningful. Dont use complete sentences either

Tip 3: Order matters
Dont wait for us to get to page 3 to discover something really cool about you.  Put that front and center.  See AAMC CV Template as a guide https://www.aamc.org/professional-development/affinity-groups/gfa/faculty-vitae/preparing-your-curriculum-vitae

Tip 4: Feel yourself
Now is not the time to be humble- show the value you bring!
